Today I can cry
Tearing apart the hood of gaiety
Peeling away the foil of mirth
Crushing to bits the mask of laughter
I smile, I speak
I seem to be basking in the glow of the sun
Oh! But I have a heart like you
And you thought it never felt any gloom
I can’t complain for long,
I can’t sing my mournful song
You seem to be away…far away
You can’t listen to me and I have a lot to say
But no longer I need to laugh or speak
It is sheer solitude that I seek,
My eyes will silently comfort the grief of my heart
Covering its wound is after all no less than art.
