The winter sun

The Winter sun

As the frozen breath rose from my lazy yawn,
I saw the austere sun kiss the sky of dawn,
Through the misty windows, I saw,
Fair skins shielded by fur and yarn.

My vision is still, the air is frozen,
My soul yearns for nothing more,
Than the warmth of the winter sun.

There was some fire in the mind,
It died slowly, amid souls cold and unkind.

This too shall pass; spring shall brings some flowers,
Don’t be elated, O winter sun,
When the summer comes, they will hate you greater
